Arterial Disease of the Legs

Disease of the arteries in the leg can cause pain when walking, pain at rest and can lead to the development of ulcers. Lifestyle modification, medications and surgery can be used to improve blood flow and relieve symptoms.

Disease of the Aorta

Aortic aneurysm is a swelling of the main blood vessel in the body. If left untreated this swelling can progress and lead to rupture of the vessel. Open and keyhole surgery is used to repair the vessel and reduce the risk of rupture.

Stroke Prevention

Disease of the carotid arteries (the main arteries supplying the brain) can lead to TIAs (mini-strokes) and stroke. In certain circumstances surgery can improve this risk. This can take the form of either open or keyhole surgery.
