Your First Appointment

How to Make an Appointment

Dr Werner-Gibbings currently consults at his Penrith and Richmond rooms.

He will begin consulting in Dee Why and Chatswood from July 2020.

Appointments can easily be made by calling his rooms or, alternately, by sending an email to the address listed below and we will get back in touch as soon as possible.

A valid referral will be required, this should be brought on the day.

What to Bring

It is important that you bring a few things to your first appointment and get there a few minutes early to make things run as smoothly as possible.

You should bring:

  • Your Referral

  • The results of any imaging

  • Your Medicare and Private Health Insurance details

  • A list of your current medications

Specialist appointments can be confusing and stressful; we are more than happy for family members to attend appointments to provide support and clarify treatment options.

It may be worthwhile writing down any questions you have before the appointment and bringing this with you, as it can be easy to forget these during your appointment.

What to Expect

Appointments usually take between 15-30 minutes, depending on the complexity of your condition.

Dr Werner-Gibbings will conduct a thorough history and examination and review any relevant investigations. Depending on these results it may be necessary to order more tests, this will be discussed on the day.

Remember, vascular disease is complex and not all conditions need surgery. Some conditions are better treated conservatively, with medication, lifestyle modification and surveillance.

At the conclusion of your appointment, Dr Werner-Gibbings will ensure that all of your questions are answered and everyone is comfortable with the planned course of treatment.

Your GP or referrer will receive a prompt letter detailing the issues discussed.
